Thompson Yards sold lumber and paint. The Ypsilanti location was a branch of Thompson Yards in Jamestown, North Dakota. John Towle was the manager from 1915 to 1923, when he was transferred to Dawson to manage the Thompson Yards there. Other managers included Oscar Lund, Leonard Klien, Jerome Murphy, and R.B. Kotts. The yards in Ypsilanti were closed sometime in the 1920s.
