Andrew (Bud) Headland, Jr. came with his parents to the Ypsilanti community in 1934. Marlis, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Camiel DeBuck, came to the community at the age of ten.
After Bud and Marlis were married, they lived in Florida while he was in the Navy, returning to the Ypsilanti area in 1953, when he was discharged.
At the time that the Ypsilanti Community Centennial Book was published in 1982, Bud and Marlis Headland were still living on their farm south of Ypsilanti, Stutsman County, North Dakota.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Headland have eight children: Cathy, Debbie, Joni, Melanie, Dayne, Craig, Laurie, and Tammy.
