Carl Erickson

Carl Erickson was born on a farm near Adrian in 1926. He moved at a young age, with his parents, to Homer Township, and received his education there. He served two years in the U.S. Navy in China, after which he worked as a substitute mail carrier for Gene Nicholls and Arnie VanDam, later becoming a full-time mail carrier in Montpelier, North Dakota.

In 1950, Carl and Vi Jibbens were married at the Ypsilanti Church. Vi had been born at Bemis, South Dakota, coming to North Dakota, at the age of two months, with her parents, Jim and Minnie Jibbens.

Carl and Vi Erickson purchased the farm that they lived on from Jim and Minnie Jibbens, living there for thirty years before moving into Ypsilanti.

Carl and Vi Erickson were the parents of five children: Jim, Calvin, Richard, Julie, and Jay.
