Charles Davis was born and raised in the Ypsilanti, North Dakota community, the youngest son of Charles Sr. and Elsie Davis, who came to the area in 1912. Charles served in the military, seeing active duty in Germany during World War II.
On May 16, 1944, Charles married Marjorie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Orr, who came to North Dakota with her parents in 1929. Following their marriage and Charles' discharge from the service, they moved to the original Daede homestead, where they were still living in 1982, at the time that the Ypsilanti Community Centennial Book was published.
They were the parents of eight children: Larry, Brett, Charles T., Susan, Peggy, Bill, Donna, and Charlene.
