Elmer and Myrtle Evans came to Ypsilanti, Stutsman County, North Dakota in 1924, where he was the second manager of the Ypsilanti Equity Elevator, after the death of his brother, Arthur, who had been the first manager.
Elmer's wife, Myrtle, worked as a secretary in the Ypsilanti Equity Elevator for several years. They served in these capacities until 1963, when they both retired and moved to Edmond, Washington.
While in Ypsilanti, both Elmer and Myrtlel Evans were active in community and church organizations. They had three children: John, Luella, and Arlys.
