George was the son of Cale and Ina McClean, who came to the Ypsilanti community of Stutsman County, North Dakota in 1916. George served in the U.S. Navy from December of 1942 to December of 1943, when he returned to the Ypsilanti community.
Rosalie was the daughter of W.S. Thexton and Rose Fox Thexton, who were living in Deer Park, Washington, although her parents had originally come from Canada.
George and Rosalie were married in 1945 in Oregon. They lived on the George Mellum farm, in the Ypsilanti community, for a short time before moving to another area farm.
George and Rosalie's children were Bertha, Glen, and Gayle. Betha married Kenneth Parfit, and were living in Sandy, Utah. Glen married Joyce Thompson, and resided at Spiritwood, North Dakota. Gayle married Ron Rode, and were living in Montpelier, North Dakota.
