Lee and Adeline Ferguson came to Ypsilanti in 1939, from Medora, North Dakota, where he and his parents, the Fred Fergusons, had operated the Rough Riders Hotel.
Lee purchased the grocery store from Ted A. Jorve, and continued to run it until 1980. Adeline was born and raised in the Ypsilanti community.
Both Lee and Adeline were active in 4-H Club work. Lee belonged to a 4-H Club at Kensal, and she belonged to a 4-H Club at Ypsilanti.. After moving to Ypsilanti, they were both active in community organizations.
Lee and Adeline had two children: Jean and Loren.
