Lloyd Willey was born in South Dakota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonza Willey. In 1902, his family moved to Minnesota and, in 1907, they moved to North Dakota.
Josephine Anderson was born at Windsor, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Anderson.
Lloyd and Josephine were married in 1923 in Jamestown. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Windsor and Cleveland area until 1937, when they moved to the Cunningham farm 3 ½ miles northeast of Ypsilanti, in Winfield Township, Stutsman County. They retired from farming in 1953, and moved into Ypsilanti.
Lloyd and Josephine Willey were the parents of twelve children: Ruby, Ruth, Esther, Lorraine, Evelyn, Donald, Ernest, Grace, Lloyd, Darwin, LeRoy, and Josephine.
