Ted Thurn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thurn, and Ethel Hendrickson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hendrickson. Ted and Ethel were married in 1934, and lived their lived in Ypsilanti, North Dakota.
Ted started a salvage business in 1938 part-time, and began in that business full-time in 1958. He also built Ted's Hamburger stand, which he later sold to Les Schultz.
Ted and Ethel Thurn had three children: Douglas, Warren, and Colleen.
