William A. Lengkeek, along with his father, A.J. Lengkeek, and family, came to the Ypsilanti area in 1911. They came by immigrant cars to Montpelier, and moved to a farm southeast of Ypsilanti, known as the Bill Davis farm.
In 1920, William married Alice Duven, who had come with her parents from Wisconsin in 1906 to the Marion area.
They lived on the Rose farm and, in 1923, William bought the family farm, which they farmed until they retired to Marion in 1961. They had two children: Myra and Arthur.
