Edward Jorve

Edward (Ted) Jorve came to Ypsilanti from Minnesota to help Gilbert with the hardware store, known as the Jorve Bros. Hardware Store. When his brother, Marius, decided to open his own hardware store in LaMoure, Ted moved there to help him with it for a time.

In 1930, he began operating his own grocery store, where he and his family lived in an apartment over the store.

Ted sold his business to Lee Ferguson in 1939, and the Jorve family moved to Minnesota. Their children were: Merton, Lavonne, Duane, Dennis, and Gerald.
