Lawrence Domek was the oldest child of George Sr. and Pauling Domek, who came to Corwin Township, Stutsman County, North Dakota, in 1907. He was seven years old at the time.
Doris Haskell, the daughter of William Haskell, was raised on a farm 2 ½ miles north of Ypsilanti, North Dakota, in Winfield Township.
Lawrence and Doris were married in 1920, and lived on a farm two miles west and four miles south of Ypsilanti. They moved to Montpelier in 1953, but continued farming until 1964. Doris passed away in 1980 and, in 1982, when the Ypsilanti Community Centennial Book was published, Lawrence was living in Montpelier.
Lawrence and Doris Domek were the parents of three children: Alfred, Madeline, and Darrell.
