Louis Jorgenson was born in Christiana, Norway. His marriage to Jensena Arneston also took place in Norway. Both Louis and Jensena were Norwegian by birth.
The Jorgenson family came to the United States in March of 1897, arriving first in New York. From there, they traveled by train to Wells, Minnesota. Louis was a bricklayer by trade, and had come to America for work.
In 1906, they moved to Ypsilanti, Stutsman County, North Dakota. The Jorgensons had four children: John, Fred, Lena, and Borghild.
Louis Jorgenson's second marriage took place on July 7, 1916, when he married Klara Holden, sister of Peter Holden. They had one son, Peter.
